Bloomtanica: A Floral Immersion at Genesis House in NYC

Genesis House, a premier destination in New York’s Meatpacking District, has unveiled its latest captivating exhibition – Bloomtanica. This innovative floral experience is the result of a collaboration between Genesis House and renowned floral designer Jeff Leatham and it is FREE to visit. I was so excited to attend their opening event so I could share my experience with you.

What is Bloomtanica?

Bloomtanica is a first-of-its-kind installation that blends the physical and digital realms, creating a surreal world of floral reflections. Leatham, known for his avant-garde approach to floral design, has curated an immersive experience that transports visitors into a realm where the boundaries between nature and technology blur .

The exhibition features Leatham’s signature style, showcasing his mastery of color, texture, and form. Visitors will be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of blooms, each meticulously arranged to create a visually stunning and emotionally captivating display .

When to visit Bloomtanica?

Bloomtanica is open to the public at Genesis House, located in the heart of the Meatpacking District. The exhibition is accessible during Genesis House’s regular operating hours, providing ample opportunities for visitors to immerse themselves in this floral wonderland .

You can visit it Tuesday-Sunday from 11AM-9PM, from May 2 to June 9.

Who is Jeff Leatham?

Jeff Leatham is an acclaimed American floral designer, known for his innovative and visually striking floral arrangements and installations. Born in Ogden, Utah, Leatham initially worked in retail and modeling before discovering his passion for floral design while working at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills in the 1990s.  He later became the Artistic Director at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, where he revolutionized the hotel’s floral design and transformed it into a renowned “flower hotel”. 

Leatham’s bold, architectural floral creations have earned him global recognition, and he has designed for high-profile clients such as Oprah Winfrey, the Kardashians, and the Dalai Lama.  He has also collaborated with luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Hermès, and has published several books showcasing his innovative floral art and design.  Leatham’s unique approach to floral design, which emphasizes color, shape, and texture, has had a significant influence on the industry. It has been widely praised for its artistic and transformative qualities.
